Histology

Tissues removed during surgery are processed and stained in the Histology department. The stained slides are then available for a pathologist to read under a microscope to make the diagnosis. Special procedures performed in this department include immunoperoxidase, immunofluorescence, kidney biopsy studies, electron microscopy, and hematopathology stains.
